Peter had been in my life since I was a small child. As family friends of my parents, I remember looking forward to our visits to their home in Romford.
Peter was the "cool" grown up, before cool was cool. I was always very excitable as a child (nothings changed) and Peter was someone that allowed me to get away with a little more than my parents ever would.
He was instrumental in helping me get one of my first jobs at a local golf club, when I had ambitions of becoming a professional golfer.
Although always aware of events going on in their lives through my parents, it was not until their death some 5 years ago that we reconnected.
I feel blessed to have spent some precious time with Peter in his later years. Meeting his now grown up children and their subsequent families, I have never seen a prouder "pop".
I will forever remember Peter as the cool guy, with a voice that had a calming quality. A man that loved his cricket. Above all, someone that took pleasure in the simple things in life, being in the company of his beautiful wife Rita , family and friends (if the cricket was on the box in the corner, that was just an added bonus)
Love you Peter. Thanks for being the cool guy in my corner.
